Tolls & Tariffs
RLC has a deep understanding of pipeline tolls and tariffs and electricity tariff matters. We represent clients and groups of large consumers before the Canada Energy Regulator and utilities or other interveners before the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Oil & Gas
RLC provides comprehensive legal regulatory support for our oil and gas clients. We help secure approvals for the construction and operation or expansion of facilities, and provide audit support to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements at all times. We appear regularly before the Alberta Energy Regulator and the Canada Energy Regulator on oil and gas related matters.
Pipelines
RLC works with clients to develop strategies to obtain timely approval for new projects and ensure regulatory compliance. RLC litigates disputes of all potential regulatory challenges for the organizations involved in pipeline development and operations before the Alberta Energy Regulator and the Canada Energy Regulator.
Water
RLC’s regulatory expertise includes rate regulation of water utilities. RLC provides the relevant legal regulatory knowledge and strategy to approve or oppose water utility matters by acting for water utilities, including residential developers or interveners, before the Alberta Utilities Commission.
